Is this anyone's definition of animal welfare, except for the SPCA's?

The little cat in my poem was indeed just one of many that day. It was a distressing parade of terrifed, wide eyed cats and kittens. They were carried unceremoniously through the front reception area of the veterinary clinic...right under the very noses of the public waiting for their veterinary appointments. How crass.

Defenseless little cats were killed for sniffling that day...are these the actions of a caring, compassionate Society? Is this anyone's definition of animal welfare, except for the SPCA's?
