We have received confirmation that no animal welfare is taught to SPCA employees. Not even animal behaviour is taught to employees.
What is taught are methods of animal disposal.
Staff are trained to do in-house killing (which the SPCA calls 'humane' destruction or 'euthanasia': both words are deceptive in the context which the SPCA uses them, so AAS is forced to use the only word that accurately describes what the SPCA does.)
Staff are also trained in a 'test' that purports to almost flawlessly and scientifically determine if a dog is dangerous. The SPCA publishes no data to support the 'science' it claims, but much anecdotal information shows that the test is rigged to fail dogs, and is highly unreliable. Such a test can be used to justify killing dogs for space.
True animal welfare does not teach animal disposal, only the used pet industry should have a need for teaching disposal methods.
