Even BC SPCA CAC members call on Rescue Groups Rather Than Their Own Society!

Two weeks ago, I was called by an administrator at the Vernon Golf Club who said that a cat had been found in the club's storage shed three days previously. The administrator wanted the cat removed because she feared the cat would venture up onto the road and be hit by a car. I picked up the cat within ten minutes and asked the administrator if the club's Pro Shop would take a donation can for our all-volunteer organisation. She refused, saying "we don't do that" but she said that she could suggest that the club make a donation. I promised to let her know what happened to the cat, and today I made good on my promise. I told her that no one had claimed the cat and that the Vernon & District Animal Care Society had paid to have him vaccinated, neutered and tattooed. Out of curiosity, I asked her why she hadn't called the SPCA, and how she had found out about our organisation. I also asked whether she was the same Lisa Anderson who belonged to the Vernon SPCA CAC. You guessed it! She is a CAC member. She says she's just a new CAC member, but she appeared to be aware that the SPCA "doesn't come out for cats" and, she doesn't think twice about demanding our services. And, of course, there's no donation!

When you compare the B.C. SPCA to an organization like VDACS, it's obvious who is truly working on behalf of the animals
