When I was asked in High School to dissect a frog I simply like you walked out of class and switched to Chemistry.
I wasn't allowed another assignment but switching to Chemistry was fine with me.
What a long time ago ( over 30 years) and still little has changed.
I hate to think of how many creatures died needlessly.
