VANCOUVER (CKNW/AM980)-- The Vancouver school board has officially changed its policy around animal dissections.

The new policy gives students who have an ethical or religious objection to dissections the option of opting out. The policy was also changed so students won't have to watch the dissection if they don't want to, and can leave the room.
Trustee Andrea Reimer championed the policy change not forcing students to watch animal dissections. She says she doubts students who don't have religous or ethical concerns will abuse the new policy just for the sake of getting out of school work.

About dissection, all I can say is that I learnt nothing that was worth killing a life for
I am a teacher and would never, ever 'make' my students
As a young student in high school I also refused.
Like you, I simply walked out of class and switched to Chemistry
I wish I could walk out too....
