Greed fuels turkey slaughter
Vancouver Province
Wednesday, March 02, 2005
The announcement that the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection is now allowing these gentle, almost tame, beautiful but helpless birds to be hunted without any special licence is unthinkable.
These birds, fed by countless people to help them survive harsh conditions, are now to be slaughtered because they have thrived and are considered a "healthy" population.
Is that the reward for nature-loving local people who love to support life?
Greed always seems to win out and I'm sick of it.
When will politicians make decisions based on conserving and protecting life, and not on money and lobby groups?

Creston
