Once again the University of Victoria is the recipient of negative public attention. The unconscionable, cowardly, and despicably brutal attack inflicted on an innocent rabbit resulting in its death is a crime that warrants serious punishment.

This time, as well, the vegan lifestyle is being targeted. Acts of violence, hostility, and intolerance of this sort only escalates, and the failure to address these issues in any concrete and effective manner will surely lead to further such episodes.

These disturbing actions are of utmost importance to us all as they are representative of a much larger societal problem.
