The death of Diane Whipple *LINK* *PIC*

San Francisco, January 2001 - Neighbors heard Diane Whipple screaming as one of the dogs, a 54-kilogram (120-pound) male Presa Canario mix named Bane, attacked her. The second dog, Hera, a slightly smaller female dog of the same mixed breed, joined in. When police arrived at the scene, they found shreds of clothing strewn along the hallway, bloody handprints on the walls, and Whipple lying on the blood-soaked floor. The sight was so horrific that rescue workers later needed trauma counseling.
Presna Canario -The powerful Presa Canario is the result of crossing the now-extinct Bandino Majero and British Mastiffs to create a dog specifically for fighting. Originating in the Canary Islands, the Presa was popular as a fighter there until the 1940s when fighting was banned. The Presa was put to work shepherding or guarding. Males to 130 lbs.
