More outside change is coming. After decades of deliberately misinterpreting the PCA Act to let the most appalling abuse of animals go uninvestigated and unstopped, the SPCA decided to deliberately misuse the Act to make money-generating seizures. Most of these seizures are bare, brutal, bald, animal abuse for self-enrichment. But now, not only was the SPCA abusing animals, but it was abusing humans too. It destroyed seized animals, literally, by flat-out killing them or by making them sick in its diseased facilities, and it destroyed the lives and finances of people who had treated their animals much better than the SPCA did after it seized them.

Lawyers, courts, critics, and MLA's are not going to let the SPCA get away with its abuses of statutory power for much longer. Its already too late for the SPCA to change this and take credit itself. Again, when the SPCA is forced to stop illegal, unlawful, harmful, abusive seizures, it will be because outside forces have forced it to, not because it saw the error of its ways.

The realization that no change at the SPCA can ever be trusted is saddening. What a waste of time and resources. But what is too sad for words, is to think of all the helpless, innocent creatures that have suffered and died at the hands of the SPCA and it is not stopping any time soon - not as long as the current Board of Directors support their CEO and his band of bullies and liars.

Is "liars" too strong a word? Not anymore. In John van Dongen v the SPCA, the court found that the SPCA had lied and that the seizure was unlawful and illegal. More courts are going to question the SPCA's seeming integrity. What a shame and what a waste of lives and money for the SPCA to take this course, instead of choosing honest animal welfare and honest prevention of cruelty.
