Nancy used to send Mercy Volunteer helpers into the Vancouver SPCA to pay for and buy cats that were scheduled for death (almost 100% of them back in the 1990's) and when the SPCA found out, they stopped it! Yes...you read that right! The SPCA preferred to kill the cats than let the competition - who might say something to the media - have them.

It preferred to kill dogs than let dog rescuers buy them and save their lives too. It is still doing this. Craig Daniell and his henchmen and henchwomen tried to kill Cheech last year even though the SPCA had many offers to foster and rehabilitate him, including one from AAS made directly to Daniell on the day Cheech was supposed to be killed. Daniell's response to the chance to save a dog's life? He sent his henchmen to make sure Cheech got killed. That forced some staff and volunteers to steal Cheech right from under the henchmen's noses (and on TV). And that led to the media story that will not die!
