No Set Policy For Spay/Neuter of Rabbits

In the last several years the number of individuals purchasing companion rabbits has greatly increased. So too, has the abandonment. Yet the SPCA does not have a standard policy with regards to spay/neuter of these animals. In fact a number of lower mainland branches sell unaltered rabbits for $15.00.

On the other hand, private rescue groups such as Vancouver Rabbit Rescue & Advocacy and Small Animal Rescue Society always manage, through fund raising efforts and such, to provide medical attention as well as to have all rabbits altered before adoption.
