As with all harms that humans inflict on animals, two camps have formed around the victims. On one side there are the real animal welfarists, ethically doing the real work on a shoestring - the "3-Rs" - who rescue, rehabilitate and release the animals whose welfare they quietly dedicate themselves to.
On the other side there are the big players jockeying for the money in the Wildlife victims' market, who victimize the animals further - the "3-Ds" who drag animals into pens, display them for money, and demean them with a lifetime of service to their masters.
This pattern is repeated wherever there are animals in distress or need.
The "pets in distress or need" market has always been shared by all the thousands of little real animal welfarist doing the real work on shoestrings and the big business BC SPCA. It is exactly the same.
Animal-use businesses all operate on one simple principle: provide a service and you will be paid. The BC SPCA provided free pet disposal for decades and killed all the animals it couldn't make money by displaying and selling. It packaged that as animal welfare and surrounded it with fake statistics and science. Dead animals are collateral damage.
The new Wild Animal Refuge businesses operate the same way. They get free animals and display them for money. Dead animals are collateral damage.
In both cases there has to be someone who pays the money. In the case of the SPCA that is mainly animal-lovers making donations. In the case of the Wild Animal Refuge business, it is ignorant customers who gawk at animals in big cages.
The new Wild Animal Refuge business has another source of money. It is friends with Big Government. That link must be exposed.
