Creston PAWS has been robbed

We have heard that in several recent newscasts, BCTV gave credit to the SPCA and to BigDogRescue but not a word of credit to Creston PAWS. Was BigDogRescue recognized just by accident and Creston PAWS not mentioned just by accident? BigDogResue is very friendly with the SPCA, even using their home in which to hold SPCA initiated meetings, and Creston PAWS is the organization that told the world that the SPCA did nothing for years. You've all just seen the dark side of "Freedom of the Press" whether you recognize it or not. It was no accident that the SPCA was given credit for PAWS' hard work. The "Freedom" is to promote your friends and to discredit anyone who isn't your friend. It's all about "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" and the SPCA and the media have been scratching each other's backs for decades. The SPCA is too good a source of cutesy stories which require no work on the part of lazy "journalists" to do any real investigative work, but which really draw audiences because of the "cute" value. And the media and the SPCA are run by "suits". Suits like other suits. Suits think people who get dirty and poor doing the real humane work (as opposed to doing media releases and glossy p.r.) are laughable. The SPCA is behind this. It either made sure, or at the least it permitted (unless the SPCA insisted the newscasts be corrected), this theft of credit, and theft of credit is the same as theft of money because donations that properly belong to Creston PAWS are now going to the SPCA, and the law recognizes that. Creston PAWS could sue the TV stations which directed credit/money away from it and to the SPCA.

The suits in the media ignored AAS's evidence and documentation on the SPCA when we sent it to all of them, which forced us to build a web site and get the truth out that way. Which just proves that every cloud does have a silver lining - it is the web, that never sleeps, that never stops watching, that is going to force change.

Creston PAWS was deliberately and royally shafted, just as have been many small groups because of their opposition to the SPCA. Again - where is "reporter" Nicholas Read, since he helped the BC SPCA to bring down the wealthy and troublesome Vancouver Regional SPCA? His stories since then have excluded any information about the SPCA's lack of prevention of cruelty - just as he has not written on the Topaz Creek dogs because he would have to point out that Creston PAWS did all the work and the SPCA did nothing. The media does not attract or provide a secure workplace for people of principle. Again, you have to understand that the media exclusion of Creston PAWS and giving credit to the SPCA is not accidental. They all know.

Letters to the CRTC are important, if only to let the stations know that we are not fooled, with cc's to BCTV or Global (the names keep changing, can anyone tell me - for sure - which station it was, or was it both? What other TV stations have done this and what are their email addresses?) and cc's to the BC SPCA Board of Directors and to AAS. (email addresses and a sample letter to follow).

P.S. - no criticism of BigDogRescue is meant, we know they mean well, but in fact it looks like they are just as gullible about the media as they are about the SPCA as are most of the decent people doing the real work.
