I have just received an e-mail from Michael Saperia of Petpharm. This company was unable to send veterinary prescriptions to Canadians unless they were Ontario residents until now. There were some restrictions that made them able to sell to US customers, but not to Canadians.
At last, we will be able to get cheaper medications for our pets. It will help those with animals on long-term medications especially. The mark-ups in BC seem extremely high for many products. See the website below for a current pruce list.
Apparently a veterinarian can charge for writing a prescription, but they have to write one on request. At least, that's how I understand it.
