It has been announced on local radio today that Gaston Lapointe, owner of the husky mixes seized by Kelowna SPCA several months ago, must come up with $16,000 by Friday Oct. 4th if he has any hope of getting his dogs back. That is all the radio reports, no mention of any prosecution. Does this mean the SPCA is holding them for ransom and will return them to the man who allegedly neglected them for the right price? Has anyone heard any more details about this latest development?
