Craig Daniell: "The same critics should also consider what life would be like for animals in British Columbia without the SPCA"

"The same critics should also consider what life would be like for animals in British Columbia without the SPCA."

Just for the record - again - AAS does not want the SPCA to disappear. On the contrary, we have said over and over, that we want a financially strong SPCA because a broke SPCA cannot prevent cruelty, and we want a morally strong SPCA so that we can trust it serve animals, not itself.

The SPCA has the legal authority and the provincial structure in place. It's true, some of the SPCA's critics want the SPCA destroyed, but they are acting out of self-interest too. To ruin the SPCA would be to throw the baby out with the bathwater. We need an honest, upright, trustworthy SPCA and we're still a long way from that, in our opinion.

What will it take to get rid of the critics?
Please don't take it as 'throwing stones', or 'snapping and snarling'
If the SPCA was operating properly we would not need animal activist groups
Mr. Daniell implies that the SPCA has rehabilitated these wild creatures, which is simply not true
