I blame the SPCA for not lobbying to make it harder to breed!

I blame the SPCA for not lobbying to make it harder to breed! Why are they not lobbying for some breed bans? (I know this is controversial...but from my days of volunteering, there were sooooo many pits and rotties at shelters...I think it would be so much in their favour for them not to be born in the first place...honestly, how many of those dogs have or will have a decent life??? But I know this is a whole other story.)

I also blame the SPCA for not lobbying for breed licensing. Just having to go buy a license and list a license number when advertising pups for sale ANYWHERE would deter some people. And I think ethical breeders who are into it would pay for a license and welcome some kind of regulations.

I think to expect dog owners to 'know' the signs of dog aggression is ludicrous. Certainly they should be held accountable, but how many of us have met dog owners, or people looking for a dog who know nothing about dogs? And the dog experts on dog aggression like Jean Donaldson (Culture Clash) and Ian Dunbar have spent YEARS studying dog behaviour and dog aggression to understand all this. There is NO way the average dog owner is going to understand this.

I hope that some of these people start to sue the municipality and the SPCA for dog bites. I know if my child got bitten I would turn around sue the pants off those people in the position to make laws for not making the public safer. I'm tired of hearing the excuses the SPCA comes up with...
My rant for the day!!!

AND given the 'willy nilly' nature of dog breeding, I'm surprise there aren't a ton more dog bites. Perhaps when a few children are killed, the SPCA will get its act together.
