We were really screwed by the city of Vancouver!

I fully agree. East Van has so many barking yard dogs, the majority of which are owned by Asians. Let's speak bluntly.

They are treated like guard dogs and they are. The city, when we bother to call, since they refuse to do anything and usually decide to hang up on us, insist that there is an equal number of yard dogs on the east and west side. What crap. I cannot even enjoy a peaceful weekend at home without listening to yard dogs bark all over the block. There is litereally, I am not exaggerating, a dog every second house. (I live on 14th Ave, west of Clarke).

The large aggressive breeds are the most trendy now, such as pit bulls and Rottweilers.

We did the offical barking dog complaint form through the city because of a dog very close to us. We got 5 neighbours to sign this form for two weeks. It ended up that the city fined the minor son. They could not find the adult who owned the house (Could not figure out the name.)The six month limit passed and they had to drop it. The dog still barks 24 hours a day. And now the city tells us to fill out the forms again with all the neighbours. What a coordination job that was...

Can you believe that? We were really screwed by the city of Vancouver!
