One SPCA Director Tells it Like it Is at Today's AGM: SPCAs still kill for space

Thompson Regional Director Jeni Mason is to be commended for having the guts to stand at the microphone at today's BC SPCA Annual General Meeting and state that the SPCA (she named Kamloops branch in particular) still kills animals for space, and that in her opinion that is one of the biggest problems to be addressed.

We know that many SPCA branches still kill for space, and we know that the BC SPCA has told the media time and again that it doesn't kill any healthy adoptable animals and that it doesn't kill for space - Chilliwack branch manager Joanne Halligan, for example, said those very words to a Chilliwack newspaper reporter just over a week ago.

Thank you Ms.Mason for your honesty. It is unfortunate that after today you will no longer be a director of the BC SPCA. The Society could use more people with such integrity as you showed today.

In Victoria the SPCA itself is not killing for space: it is letting others do it
