What will it take for Victoria to finally get an SPCA it can be proud of?

After reading Carol Sonnex's letter of May 30 regarding the B.C. & Victoria SPCA, I feel I must respond. I am the treasurer of a small, non-profit animal welfare group called VOCAL ( Voice of Concern for Animal Life ) in Victoria. We have a small amount of money to do our work & no shelter. When I read Ms. Sonnex's letter, I just couldn't believe that the SPCA could charge the Victoria pounds a fee to receive animals from them! What's going on here?

I also think it is deplorable that the Victoria SPCA no longer has a spay/neuter clinic. Isn't spay/neuter the starting place to help control pet over-population?

What will it take for Victoria to finally get an SPCA it can be proud of?

In Victoria the SPCA itself is not killing for space: it is letting others do it
