My family members trap...One cousin is a millionaire...

So trappers depend on the killing of animals for their livelihoods...I personally have three men in my family who trap animals and use their fur.

One cousin is a millionaire who just loves to go 'out into the wilds and commune with nature', who incidentally proudly provides his wife with a lovely new fur coat every couple of years from the creatures he has killed. Sadder than his pride is his wife's gleeming smile while she shows off her new possession.

The two other men also love to hunt and trap and act wonderfully smug when bragging about their kills.

Not one of these folks have to depend on trapping for any part of their income...they simply enjoy the hunt. How and why is beyond my mindset. Attempting to teach them and show them new perspectives about the unneccesary cruelty and brutality towards animals just results in nasty arguments and accusations that I am one more 'damn tree-hugger'.

I have learned to decline dinner outings with these people, as the sight of those fur coats casually draped over their chairs makes me vomit.

I have never been able to stretch my mind far enough to even remotely understand how killing animals can be fun
