This is damage control, but whatever works...and damage control is one of the most effective agents of change

The writing was on the wall for stores that purchase from puppymills after the recent spate of media-attracting demonstrations outside pet stores, most notably in Beverly Hills, in reaction to Oprah's show on puppymills.

If pet stores really cared about the suffering of their product, why would they have waited until the boom was about to fall to change their ways? This is damage control, but whatever works...and damage control is one of the most effective agents of change. But first the damage has to be done, and Oprah is only one of hundreds of thousands of brave people, many of them women, who have exposed cruelty by big business and it is these brave people who deserve thanks for making change happen.

Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Elie Wiesel
