Sir, Please feel free to drive to a Reserve where you will witness starving and stray dogs. Because you have not taken the time to assess this situation yourself does not mean it does not exist. It is certainly a REAL problem. Rescue societies throughout Canada (check out Big Heart Rescue, for one example) bear the expense of vet care for animals rescued from Reserves in B.C. Many of these dogs arrive in horrible condition and must be put down to end their suffering.
As for myself, I lived on a reserve and witnessed dogs starving, dogs freezing in the subzero weather and dog shooting days, which, sorry to tell you, is common on many reserves.
Because of my experience on the reserve, I began a blog. You are welcome to check it out at the link below or google Reserve Dog Liberation for more info. I believe many Reserve's could benefit not only from knowing the value of spay and neuter, but from EDUCATION about humane animal treatment of companion animals. Many of the horses on this particular Res were also neglected, but it's the dogs who suffer the most. Please educate yourself on this subject before you label people 'racist' who are trying to help these animals.
Thank you for your time.
