Remote In-Field Sterilization Clinic
for Animal Companions in BC

Big Heart Rescue is thrilled to announce that the British Columbia Veterinarian Medical Association (BCVMA) has sanctioned our first remote in-field sterilization clinic for animal companions in British Columbia!

The Big Heart team, the Raincoast Conservation Foundation, the Summerlee Foundation, the Rural Animal Vet Services (RAVS) Dr. Jim Snyder, Dr. Michael Paul (BC Vets) and the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA Canada) have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the clinic will use best practices and due diligence when moving forward with this historic initiative.

After many months of collaborative effort, meetings, telephone conferences, grant applications, detailed logistics and a steep learning curve, our coalition has been successful in achieving our goal to provide the very best in medical and educational services to the animal companions and the community members of Oweekeno, an under-served isolated community that does not have access to regular veterinary care.

An update will be provided when we return from this exciting project and we look forward to sharing our success with you, the very people who have made this possible.

Sincerely,

BHR Board of Directors
