BC SPCA Director Randy Reynolds remembers when the SPCA killed 75,000 dogs and cats a year. (Rabbits and hamsters haven't ever really counted but there were probably another 5,000 or so of them.)
That's over 200 animals a day being killed by the SPCA...and they called that animal welfare.
All that killing required a special kind of employee and that is who the SPCA hired. The sensitive ones, those who hated the job once they finally understood what they had to do, quit. The insensitive stayed, worked to rule and took that paycheque year after year and kept their mouths shut.
