No wonder the SPCA is struggling financially

This is losing market share big time! No wonder the SPCA is struggling financially. No wonder that it was few months from receivership not long ago. There was a time when there was no competition, or very little, for animal-lovers' donations. Consequently, the SPCA's attitude was that it didn't matter how it acted.

What will be interesting to find out is how many other registered charities were there five years ago? Ten years ago?

AAS has been told by hundreds of people that they stopped donating to the SPCA long before they heard of AAS. Always one of two reasons is given. Either the person has never forgotten the $204,000 salary of Vancouver CEO Doug Hooper, or the person was so angered by the callous attitude by staff to suffering animals and/or animals at the SPCA.

Sometimes people cite the Cheech incident, but that is essentially an example of the second reason people switched their donations to another group, one that clearly loves the animals that they strive so hard to help. It's also an example of how the SPCA's own attitude is what is causing it such a loss of media support and so much financial harm.

People give their money to Societies that treat them with respect
I know my money is being spent on what I intended when I donate to other animal welfare/rescue groups
