The excuse that the Society is simply unaware is very hard to swallow
In Response To: Exotic animals escape scrutiny ()

The BC SPCA has been in existence for over 100 years and has 36 branches.
It is the BC SPCA's business to know and monitor how animals are being treated in the communities their branches cover.
The excuse that the Society is simply unaware is very hard to swallow.
The Aldergrove Game Farm/Greater Vancouver Zoo is also not new and even 20 years ago people were complaining about how the elephants Tina and Tumpe were being treated. I know because I was horrified by the chaining in the dust bowl back then myself and complained.
Perhaps it is time for complaints to be taken seriously, from the complaints about poor housing for one hippo to the complaints of poor housing and isolation for one chained yard dog.
All are equally important to the animal involved and the suffering, that continues by doing nothing, immense.
