Wow - it sounds like Gail and Big Heart Rescue is doing so much more for animals than bigger associations that have the mandate and money to do so.
This begs the question: if a small organization such as Big Heart can provide such good care and preventative measures for animals, why is the SPCA not doing the same?
Big Heart Rescue's immediate success with the Kuper Island and the Bella Bella reserves raises questions about SPCA animal-protection officer Erika Paul's statement that the SPCA has tried to work with Kuper Island, as well as other reserves, to start a spay-and-neuter program, but has not succeeded.
That statement begs another question: Why? Can anyone answer that one?
I'd be pleased to have this explained to me by the SPCA. I can be written to at infoplace@shaw.ca. I look forward to a full explanation from the SPCA.
