For the information of your fellow Yukon Quest animal cruelty supporters (cowards who support an industry that chains dogs, culls/kills unwanted dogs and puppies - talk to Frank Turner about this, he was the one who brought it up this year) and the Quest mushers who sell, give away or quite possibly kill unwanted Quest dogs, this is what was on the posters that have caused your knickers to get into a twist:
One poster about Lance Mackey boasting about his dogs “not knowing when they were going to eat or how long they would be running for” - he further boasted that he “gives the dogs everything they can take and they will take it.” For this you and those in your peanut gallery apparently consider this man a hero. The quotes were out of a 2007 Yukon News story about the Quest.
One poster showing a Yukon Quest ‘athletes village’/doggie concentration camp, accompanied by a comment from Quest flunkie/frontman for Yukon dog exploitation Stephen Reynolds.
Two posters showing cold, miserable, scared dogs at the end of short chains attached to a truck before the start of this year’s Quest.
