Dog boarding by an animal welfare society is very questionable

“We are continuing to take borders and surrendered dogs but we are checking to make sure the boarders have had their vaccinations,” said Ann Ferguson, chair of the Prince Rupert SPCA community council. “We are being diligent to keep our kennel healthy.”

The fact that people would be allowed to surrender their dogs without vaccinations while parvo is present does not speak highly of the SPCA's caring for the dogs that they were formed to help.

Dog boarding by an animal welfare society is also very questionable as limited space is always a problem. I certainly hope no animals ever have to be turned away to make room for an animal being boarded for profit. To do so as an animal welfare society would be ethically and morally bankrupt.
