I called the BC SPCA this morning about the phone fundraising. Apparently Strategic Communications, a telemarketing firm, has been hired to raise funds, so they have "official" approval. They do not have to know anything at all about the SPCA. The lady answering the phone, from the donations department, didn't know what commission was being paid, but she didn't think it was as high as 30%. Apparently the boilershop man's comments about the tax information were not appropriate and the SPCA does their own receipts.

I requested that I receive no more phone solicitations and that my information should not be bandied around to third parties. That they will do.
