I send money to the SPCA under the PAWS Plan. All the money is supposed to go to Nanaimo directly. This evening I received a phone call requesting me to increase the amount given each month. Apparently they do this "at this time of year." He had the sum I currently give wrong as well.

The person calling, I believe his name was Don, said he worked for Strategic Communications in Vancouver. He had no information on the SPCA, so I guess they use professional fundraisers. I wonder what that costs. Fundraisers normally work on commission.
