Dear Mayor and Council:

I strongly urge you to adopt a bylaw which would provide humane treatment for dogs, cats, and all other animals living in Tofino. Companion animals in particular are completely dependent on people for all aspects of their welfare, and it is incumbent upon those in positions of authority such as yourselves, to show leadership by promoting the best possible welfare for our canine and feline friends.

We gain a lot from our furry family members, and we must remember to return the favour. It is very cruel and dangerous to confine, chain, neglect, and otherwise mistreat dogs and cats. Dogs and cats are intelligent social animals, and require social interaction, physical exercise, and good nutrition every day. Humane education programs could benefit school children and other community members. School programs, public service posters and announcements.....the choice is yours.

For the animals have no choice.

Please choose to address this important issue, and protect those innocents who suffer needlessly in your city.
