I have been fostering a rescued chihuahua cross seized from a Chilliwack puppymiller and sent to the Sechelt SPCA.
Yesterday all of us fostering these dogs were made to return the dogs to the Sechelt SPCA and we have been told that they are on the ferry this morning to be sent back to the puppy miller.
These dogs were in such bad shape when we got them. My sister fostered two female basenjis, I had a yorkie chihuahua mix and my daughter had a chihuahua. Our groomer had a min-pin. I have spoken to most of the fosters and all want to fight to keep the dogs.
These dogs were malnourished, all had fleas and other skin conditions. Most have very little teeth. Most of them can wipe the floor with their abused nipples as the drag that low. I have two female dogs that have been fixed and I never realized the breeder dogs vagina's were so enlarged and swollen. The SPCA has not spayed or neutered the dogs.
They are not house trained at all, they cower in fear of everyone...they did not even know how to walk up and down stairs. Lola, the dog I had, clung to me for two weeks...she was so freaked out by grass, I do not think she ever saw it.
Six weeks later I can walk around the park beside my house and Lola sticks right by me.
I feel the SPCA is not doing what is right for these dogs...They rescue them...charge 11,000.00 dollars and as soon as she pays it they cough up the dogs back. I am missing the part about protecting the animals. It is heart breaking to take these dogs back to the SPCA...after they have tasted real life.
