Or if you were you weren't paying attention. I was the first speaker. I guess the second reason you may not have heard of me is that Okanagan Animal Welfare Foundation is not big on heavy PR work to garner donations. We're too busy doing hands on work. And perhaps you should do YOUR research. Gaston Lapointe IS the owner of the hubcap display and auto parts yard on highway 97 between Kelowna and Westbank. His breeding kennel is 70 kilometers away in Beaverdell, but he uses his highway frontage for free advertising of "puppies" and "free dogs". Trust me, I've been there, I've talked to them. I've played the "Prospective Buyer" and found out. IT'S THE SAME GUY. Geez, this is elementary. Anyone who has spent any time investigating the puppy mill industry knows that rule number one is NEVER SELL YOUR PUPPIES OR DOGS FROM THE SAME PROPERTY AS YOUR HELLHOLE BREEDING OPERATION. And yeah, I'm well aware of the seizure of the 11 shih tsus. I have worked in vet hospitals for years and have had a few conversations with one of the vets involved. Bravo! Good seizure. And very wise, seizing small breed sellable dogs. But I'd bet my left arm the SPCA knew of that place for years too, before doing anything. And if you work for the Penticton SPCA, as I suspect you do, (although no one ever identifies themselves on these message boards, which is not only cowardly but also irritating)the reason you have never "talked" to me is because anyone with half a brain in animal advocacy work knows that if you identify yourself as such to an SPCA staff member you'll get even less of a straight answer than you would if you played Joe Public.
