Dear Mayor Jackson and Council

I write to thank Councillor Robert Campbell for taking the time and interest to look into the Delta SPCA's recent actions and ask for a municipal review of the SPCA contract.

It is deplorable that the BC SPCA Head Office has taken such a cold and indifferent position to the fate of Cheech, the dog slated for euthanasia. The inflexibility of the SPCA to consider other viewpoints or postpone euthanasia does not reflect a compassionate, humane approach to animal welfare. How many other animals have suffered similar fates in silence?

The SPCA is in desperate need of reform and I applaud your Council for taking a stand on behalf of the animals in your community.
