According to an earlier post on this messageboard an SPCA board member who was also the Kamloops representative, stated publically the Kamloops SPCA euthanizes for space. Maybe they're not spaying & neutering because there's a good chance those animals will just be killed. Why waste money on spaying and neutering when they can use it to buy more "Paws for a Cause" t-shirts @ $12 -$15 bucks a pop, or those new staff uniforms the SPCA's board has been talking about. If the SPCA focussed more on controlling the pet overpopulation problem then euthanizing for space would no longer be an issue. The SPCA relies on adoption money to continue operating in this province, enough said.
