Does the SPCA work with Richmond Homeless Cats??

In the article "Cat lady's supporters foil SPCA inspection", written on Sept. 7th, 2004 by Mr. David Carrigg (Staff writer) Ms. Lorie Chortyk, the B.C.SPCA spokeswoman, said "the society works with some cat rescue groups, including Richmond Homeless Cats".

Yet on Thursday, August 19, 2004 the Vancouver Sun article written by Darah Hansen/Peter Battistoni states, " Carol Reichert, president of Richmond Homeless Cats, feeds some of her 800 shelter cats, many of which came from the SPCA.

The article continues with..."A Richmond woman who has saved the lives of hundreds of unwanted cats is lashing out at the SPCA for choosing to kill its more difficult animals rather than spend the money necessary for rehabilitation or care".

I am confused by the contradictory information quoted in reference to Ms. Chortyk's statements and the relationship the SPCA has with Richmond Homeless Cats.

Perhaps Richmond Homeless Cats would care to comment or Ms.Chortyk would like to clarify.
