How many legacies from Victoria in the last two years went into the Society's general revenue?

Re:SPCA honours donors' wishes Oct.27

I believe the letter published on Oct 27, 2004 is misleading without enough factual information. Perhaps the Times Colonist could contact Ms. Troman and ask her the following questions:

1) Why, if money is left in a will to the BC SPCA Victoria Branch, the branch is not considered "a specific location" by the Society.

2) How the legacy must be worded to ensure it stays in Victoria? (Exact wording please.)

3) Do the Planned Giving Officers specifically tell persons possibly donating to the Society how to specifically word their will so their monies stay in the community they are expecting to support?

4) How many legacies from Victoria in the last two years went into the Society's general revenues, and the total value of those legacies?

I believe if the Times Colonist does this it will find that Victoria is not in the red this year or any other year.

From vision to reality???
