Animal Advocates Watchdog

This is what you are defending *PIC*

One of the best ways to keep dogs from being used and abused as guard dogs and to prevent any more children from being ripped to shreds is to ban the dangerous breeds. Would you draw the line anywhere? At 200 lb pit bull crosses, Fila mastiffs, Cane corsos, Presa canarios, Argentine dogos? Or would you defend the artificial production of any dog, no matter how huge, no matter how powerful, no matter how inherently dangerously bred to fight or protect, no matter how inherently untrusting? Not even adults can keep themselves from being killed by these dogs and many the dogs are abused by their owners.

Where would you draw the line, or would you protect the existence of any dog, no matter how huge and powerful? If you give the only civilized answer - that you wouldn't support the breeding of even bigger, more powerful dogs, then you are contradicting yourself by defending the existing dangerous breeds whose numbers and attacks are rapidly increasing.

These breeds are not bred to be companion animals - they are macho status and power symbols. Too many of them live lives of unnatural isolation on chains, in drug houses and in warehouses. Too many are physically abused. Some are used in the fighting pits. Few live long, happy lives. Many are killed by pounds when their usefulness or novelty is over.

There is no rational reason for the existence of these dogs in a civil society, except bad reasons.

Dog breeding is a business. No dog is a work of nature, they are all artificial, so there is no argument that every newly contrived breed has to be protected. You are helping no one, not dogs, not children, by your position.

Or is it that yours is an extremely popular stance that attracts donations? But it is not the truth, there are genetically inherently dangerous dogs, and your stance is anti-dog. AAS is the only animal advocacy group that we know of that is telling the unpopular truth, because we don't care where the money is - just where the truth is. Dangerous dog breeding is out of control and the use of dogs to terrorize and intimidate and fight is on the rise. How can a real animal advocate defend that?
