This raiding has got to stop

On having first hand experience of the SPCA's's tactics, my concern is for the animals. Did they really save them or did they kill them, like they do so many?

Is the dog business different from the cat business, and/or to what extent? Why were the cats that were seized in Chilliwack and Campbell River held for up to two years because of the court system and yet with a dog seizure they were happily fattened up and all found loving safe homes in the last ten weeks?

I smell a skunk. I run a no-kill feline shelter and have been visited by the SPCA SWAT team. I am sorry, maybe 'Big Dog Rescue' didn't care properly for their animals, but to just believe Craig and crew, I don't think so.

My policy is to take every cat to a vet prior to entering my shelter........everyone gets a blood panel and fixed, etc. I take sick and abused cats so I know that I always have some in the shelter that are not in pristine shape. BUT, they are under vet care. Yet, the SWAT team could come at any time and seize them because they think some of my cats should be dead and they would kill them. They said so!

We have to change the laws in B.C. There was nothing upfront about this seizure and they can do this to any of us. We need to get the power away from the SCPA and I urge everyone to challenge their local SPCA pound contracts.

Together, we can and will make a difference. This raiding has got to stop.
