Wolf crosses are a good analogy for pit bulls

Wolf crosses are a good analogy for pit bulls. Both types of dog are bred to a certain look, and both types of dog have a bad-ass reputation that is incompatible with urban sensibilities.

Wolves and dogs are so closely related that even DNA tests have trouble distinguishing them. I have a strong suspicion that so-called "wolf crosses" are predominantly not, at least not in the previous several generations. I think that these dogs are called "wolf crosses" to increase the cachet of owning them, and, of course, to increase their selling price.

How is it that the SPCA can have a policy for wolf crosses, while placating pit bull proponents by claiming that it will not make breed-specific decisions?

The SPCA sanctimoniously says it does not judge dogs based on breed. But it would kill wolf hybrids, no judging at all
