Vancouver Pound employee, Katie Ernst, is the proprietor of a Pit bull "rescue" organization named HugABull. Ernst has vociferously criticized AAS for saying that no more Pit bulls should be bred while so many are suffering and being killed. Ernst is adamant that Pit bulls are not deserving of their reputations. Not infrequently, there are more Pit bulls and Pit bull crosses for sale at the Vancouver City pound than any other breed. And yet Ernst says anyone who wants the breeding of more to stop is an animal-hater, as she has accused AAS of being.

Understanding the most
misunderstood breed.

Welcome to HugABull

We are a group of bully loving owners, rescuers, fans, trainers, fosters, food givers and kiss sponges who are working hard to give pit bulls the fair chance they deserve. We specialize in placing American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers, collectively known to most as pit bulls!

Our group actively works for those dogs already in shelters and rescues, helping bring great homes together with great dogs. We also do public education, limited foster care and assist new rescue pit bull owners with guidance and support.

Any pound that attempts to re-image itself through P.R. is going to face this
To expect a pound not to have public safety as its primary mandate is nonsensical
No pound can call honestly call itself a shelter until it does at least these 6 things
I am looking for explanations....I pay my taxes
I'm sickened from reading about this!
Even pound employees are forced to steal dogs by the indifference of the City and the SPCA
