This is the pattern of corruption that unlimited intake follows

An unlimited intake policy practiced by an "animal welfare" agency that accepts donations from animal-lovers, is morally indefensible for the reason that it inescapably corrupts. This is the pattern of corruption that unlimited intake follows:

1. it requires the killing of all animals there is not the space and money for;

2. it requires the agency to hire people who will kill for a paycheque;

3. it requires employees who will be secretive about this;

4. it requires the agency to hide what it does behind fake P.R. that promotes killing as "humane";

5. it prostitutes science to provide a justification for the killing;

6. it leads to actual contracts to kill unwanted animals because the agency has the tools and the employees trained in cheap animal disposal , making it competitive with private animal-disposal contractors;

7. it attracts self-servers, not animal-servers, and so most of the money goes into the employees' pockets;

8. it requires the selling of animals to the first person to pay;

9. it requires no responsibility taken for the welfare of sold animals and leads to the threat that an animal will be killed if it is returned;

10. it leads to a bottom-line business ethic of keeping business expenses down as far as possible. This explains the grim, diseased, cheap cells and cages that are the norm in a corrupted animal-welfare business;

11. it teaches a culture of pet-riddance by accepting every pet that anyone wants to be rid of. Unlimited acceptance provides the free goods that the agency sells. Riddance of the unsellable is cheap.

12. it discourages the expense of pre-sales sterilization and encourages the selling of intact animals by its outlets, which in turn encourages the breeding and selling of animals by its employees - the very ones who kill unsellable animals for the SPCA.

All this describes the BC SPCA.
