Re: Kelowna SPCA & The Hub Cap Mal Mixes?

When you drive by the Kelowna SPCA you can see many of the dogs in the outside kennels. It was reported in the papers that the SPCA had to make room for the Beaverdell dogs by placing dogs they were sheltering in foster homes and perhaps turning away others.
You could ask the Kelowna SPCA Manager Russ Forand, a former RCMP dog handler if charges have been laid or if these dogs are up for adoption. He should be able to say that much. But his standard line is "can't comment" The dogs were being tested under the SPCA's new guidelines for aggression... The breeder is very upset and wants his dogs back. I think it was reported in the paper that he would have to pay the bill of $10,000 which is what the SPCA said it has cost them to get proper care for these dogs. Does that mean if this creep can come up with the money, he gets the dogs back to abuse again? If charges are not laid, what stops him from starting over? It's not clear if charges have been laid. Why has the SPCA not responded to offers of help from the other rescue groups? I guess they would have to share some of the glory. I would also like to know if these dogs are being walked and socialized because they have been in the SPCA kennels for quite some time now.
