I agree Jean- there is no way to prove that this truly is an Al Quaeda tape- it could very easily have been made by Americans to illicit more hatred and fuel the war. Ever see the movie "Wag the Dog?". It will make you see politicians and media in a whole new light.
Either way CNN had no business showing the complete footage over and over. This is shameless exploitation of an innocent creature in order to garner more viewers.
I also found CNN's comments about the horror of what was being done to that poor pup to be rather hollow- if they really feel that way about what they saw then perhaps they should consider doing a segment on pounds that still use gas or electrocution as a means of euthanasia, or perhaps a segment on animal experimentation, both of which are rampant in their own country (and ours). At least showing video of those practices would be justified and serve a good purpose.
