I am in total agreement with everything stated. I have worked at a municipal pound and yes municipal employees are in CUPE, so wages are decent. Animal control should be watched by citizens not under the cloak and dagger of the SPCA. Somehow pounds and the SPCA should work together, with the municipalities running the pounds. There is still a need for the SPCA, to oversee that the pounds are run humanely and to help the rehoming of our precious furry ones.
The municipalities should be the ones dealing with neglect and abuse, not the SPCA.
