Animal Advocates Watchdog

Re: Does AAS approve of riding horses?

I can't speak for AAS.As AAS is a lot of people. My guess is that what most of us are against is the EXPLOITATION of horses.Animals ment to run free spend their lives in stalls and tiny yards.Often sold down the line endlessly. What happens to used up brood mares?Old ponies?Sick and injured show horses?
The horses bought for kids who then grow bored with them.Their story seems to often follow the same sad course as that of dogs.Go to a horse auction. Not the ones for healthy peppy horses, but the ones people don't like to talk about. The ones that the meat dealers frequent. In the end,as hard as it is to face.ANY animal that is "owned"by us
lives life subject to our whims. And we humans can justify almost anything.
