why we need control of breeding laws

Here are two reasons to support AAS proposed control of breeding bylaws. These are actual advertisements listed in the Buy and Sell, September 5, 2002:

"PUPPIES/KITTENS
ADORABLE puppies & young adults, these pups are raised in private homes, the mother is available for viewing, we specialize in non-shedding breeds.PB's and crosses are available- A-Z, from Yorkshire Terriers, Multipoos, Shih Tzu's, cocker spaniel, cocker x's, Pomeranians, Poodles, etc, to request photos email:debraskippon @ shaw.ca. Stud service avail. Price free to $1000. If you have pups for sale call us. Also have kittens available. 604-985-3266."

And:
"PUPPY wholesalers, any PB puppies with written guarantee can be ordered. Come with birth certificate and medical certificate from veterinarian. Wholesale prices to the public, door to door service for Canada and US. Please call with your specific request and price quote. Burnaby 604-512-7375. "

AAS control of breeding proposal makes a lot of sense, and I think that with enough voices behind them they may one day be passed throughout BC.
I am petitioning them in the Okanagan, but it's a long time consuming task for just a handful of people- I urge anyone who really cares to get involved in your areas- petition, ask for legislation. Obviously the SPCA isn't going to be doing this kind of thing anytime soon, so it's up to individuals to try to stop this careless, morally reprehensable retailing of dogs. Right now, there is nothing illegal about what these two ads are doing. Let's change that.
