"Out
of the Dark" - The Rescue of Bogie
Bogie was rescued after
being semi-abandoned at a rental property. We can't be sure
how long he was there alone with his sister, a ten year old
German Shepherd, but we know it was too long. Not only were the
dogs alone in a filthy dark house but they were in crates with no
access to food or water. The rescuer of both dogs was told by
their
owner that the scars on Bogie's sides are from being held
motionless in the crate. The owner claimed she was visiting them
multiple times a day, but all evidence was to the contrary. Upon
rescue they were found to be dehydrated and starving for food and
attention. Humans had done this to them but they were ready to
forgive just not to feel alone. Bogie was originally imported
from Europe. As a purebred English Bulldog, he fetched a
pretty penny. He spent all of the four years of his short life being
shipped off to dog shows. During his time away he was mainly
kept in crates. Bogie is so loving. He has kisses for
everyone and is so excited to be living life to the fullest in
his wonderful foster home, where he never has to be alone, not even
for a minute. The female shepherd was so immediately loved by her
foster mom that they will be together forever.
We don't know what Bogie's vet
bills will come to, but they will be high because we know he has
skin and ear infections and there may be more illnesses that must be
treated. As well, he will be neutered. When Bogie is well, we will
choose a loving, respecting, and safe home for him. Please
help us help Bogie by making a donation
here.
Bogie continues to get happier and healthier in his foster home.
He's been neutered, his infected ears are being treated and he is on
a special diet for his skin conditions.
